Only if you will use it daily. The Elite Lite is rigid, far better insulated and takes a chiller. If you are plunging twice a week, an XL plus ice is better value.

These are not really competitors. The Standard is a foldable tester pod; the Elite Lite is permanent equipment. Buy the Standard to try the habit, the Elite Lite once you know you have it.

Which Cold Pod should you avoid?
A comparison is only useful if it tells you where each product is the wrong answer. Here is where each one fails.
Don't buy the Standard if…
- You are taller than about 5'10" — you will feel cramped immediately
- You want to stretch your legs out
- You plan to plunge daily and hate buying ice
Don't buy the XL if…
- You have less than 36 inches of clear floor or patio space
- You are over about 6'2" and want a genuine full-body soak
- You want a plumbed, permanent setup

The spec differences that matter
Diameter beats capacity
The Standard and XL have the same height. All the extra water goes into width, and width is what determines whether you can sit with your arms relaxed or feel like you are in a bucket. Ignore the gallon numbers and look at the diameter: 29.5", 35.4", 39.4".
Insulation is the hidden running cost
The Standard and XL are flexible tubs with four thin layers. In summer, water in an uninsulated pod can drift back to ambient within a day, which means ice every single time. The Elite Lite has 1.96 inches of insulation in its walls and lid, and the Spaceship Cover adds a 10mm layer to the others. This is where your ongoing money goes.
Only one of them takes a chiller
The Elite Lite has built-in water in and out ports for a chiller. The Standard and XL do not, though plenty of owners have rigged up a chiller with hoses over the side. If you want the no-ice lifestyle, the Elite Lite is the only model designed for it.
Weight matters more than you think
7.7 lbs, 11.2 lbs and 32 lbs sound manageable, but that is empty. Filled, you are moving 320 to 450 litres of water, which is why the foldable pods must be emptied before they go anywhere. The practical difference is that the Standard and XL can be put away for winter and the Elite Lite cannot.
